One requirement to pass Introduction to Intercultural Peacebuilding (IPB 121) is attending the mandatory Mediation Lab Night. This lab gives students a chance to practically apply mediation theories discussed in class through role-playing scenarios, where each student will mediate alongside a co-mediator (a fellow classmate).
In this video, Maclaine Day, adjunct faculty and IPB 121 professor, shares insights about mediation and what students can expect from Mediation Lab Night. David Whippy, Director of the David O. McKay Center for Intercultural Understanding and Assistant Professor for Cultural Mediation (IPB 400), provides a brief introduction to IPB 400 for students interested in advancing their mediation skills.
