David O. McKay Center for Intercultural Understanding
In 2005, The David O. McKay Center for Intercultural Understanding was founded as a way of helping Brigham Young University-Hawaii students gain the knowledge and practical tools necessary to be those influences for peace that President David O. McKay foresaw.
Since those humble beginnings, the Center has grown rapidly. Over 150 students participate in the innovative Intercultural Peacebuilding Certificate Program, and hundreds more participating in dozens of peacebuilding projects on campus, in the community, and internationally. Every year we move closer to President David O. McKay’s prophecy by preparing more students to establish peace in their homes, their communities, and in the world.
